INKiESS develops official coin holder (coin groove) for 11 EURO commemorative coin for the European Football Championship 2024
We have produced coin holders (coin grooves) for commemorative coins for special occasions several times in our almost 90-year history.
This time, we are particularly pleased about the occasion: the European Football Championship 2024 in Germany.
In spring 2023, the German Bundesbank asked us to develop a counting coin holder for the upcoming 11 EURO commemorative coin for the 2024 European Football Championship in Germany.
In autumn 2023—via the BVA (Federal Office of Administration) the design for both sides of the coin was developed, and we received detailed information about the commemorative coin.
Artist of the obverse: Detlef Behr, Cologne. Artist of the value side: Lorenz Crössmann, Berlin. Photographer: Hans-Joachim Wuthenow, Berlin
Now our task began:
It was clear to us from the outset that this single coin container would also be produced using a sustainable 3D printing process. Our CAD / 3D designer began to develop the coin holder. Samples were printed, tested and optimised. Then the time had come—the big day of testing. Everything fits—the commemorative coins fit perfectly in the new coin container.
Series production could begin …
Another fun fact on the side: With the 11 EURO coin container, we welcome the 11th member to the team of INKiESS coin holders for commemorative and collector coins. Get to know the whole coin holder team.
With this in mind, we wish everyone a peaceful and exciting Euro 2024.
