Batteries / rechargeable batteries are included in the scope of delivery of individual devices, e.g. for operating test equipment. In connection with the sale of these devices, we are obliged as a dealer under the Battery Act to inform our customers of the Ordinance on the Return and Disposal of Used Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries:
Batteries and rechargeable batteries do not belong in household waste. Consumers have been legally obliged to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries since 1998. Dispose of them only through specialised dealers or battery collection points (legal obligation to return batteries). This is a concrete contribution to environmental protection.
Retailers and manufacturers are obliged to take back these batteries free of charge and to recycle them properly or dispose of them as hazardous waste (legal obligation to take back batteries).
Batteries requiring labelling are marked with one of the two signs below, consisting of a crossed-out dustbin and the chemical symbol of the heavy metal that is decisive for the classification as containing harmful substances. The chemical symbol (Cd, Hg or Pb) is shown below the sign.
Cd: Battery or accumulator contains cadmium
Pb: Battery or accumulator contains lead
Hg: Battery or accumulator contains mercury
If you would like to return your batteries and rechargeable batteries to us, please send them to our address with sufficient postage or hand in your batteries/rechargeable batteries in person to our dispatch department during our business hours.
